What?!

Why?!

These are the things that crossed my mind when I saw the notification pop up on my screen that an old classmate from Centennial had donated $400 to my dog, Ranger’s cancer treatment.

I messaged Nick and asked him if he had simply put one too many zeros and offered to send him the money back- mistakes happen.

But it wasn’t a mistake. And it wasn’t serendipitous.

Nick and I had theater 2 together with Mr. Burke in 2013, and while I made quite the impression on Nick by running up to him and yelling, WHAT?! in his face... I didn’t remember him.

But somehow, God always finds a way to pull those souls back together.

So I asked Nick if I could take him out for burgers to thank him for donating so graciously to Rangers treatments. He agreed and then still proceeded to not let me pay.

Our story would go in circles with Nick being chivalrous, caring, gentle, and ever so loving. From Nick showing up in the ice and snow with a pint of my favorite ice cream when I lost Ranger. Or Nick throwing his leather jacket over my head while I was taking Beyla outside to potty in the rain. Or just being there when I needed him most.

Words cannot express the amount of support and unconditional love that surrounds our relationship from each other and from our families.

God knew what he was doing when He transferred you into my theater class. God knew when we didn’t, and I will forever be grateful for that.
